Digital Krishi
Comprehensive Agri-Business Extension Service- Through this collaborative venture, by government of Karnataka, IIM, Bengaluru, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharward and SCOPE, the farmers in the selected gram panchayats are being assisted by trained personnel (called Raita Mitras) to find solutions to their agricultural problems through technology. The Raita Mitras use their tablets to diagnose the problems and offer instant, effective and economic solutions. This would reduce the cost of production for the farmers since they would make informed choices of farm inputs and markets.
This project is being implemented in association with University of Agriculture Sciences Dharwad, IIM (Bangalore) and Department of Agriculture, Government of Karnataka. This is a pilot project implemented in Navalgund block of Dharwad district covering 20 Gram Panchayat and 4000 farmers.
Under Digital Krishi project, farmers have been advised by way of Tabs to adopt technology based agriculture extension service to maximize crop production and make agriculture less risky.
